I’m still alive, in case you wondered. After the Edinburgh Yarn Festival I’ve been very busy with a big project at work and then we went on holiday. Thanks for hanging in there.
Loads of exciting things are happening here in Edinburgh with regards to new yarn shops and a couple of cheeky wee projects Jo and I are planning. More on that in the next posts.
I’ve been been in the Netherlands for the past couple of weeks and had a great time exploring Holland on the bicycle. We had some glorious weather, but boy was it it windy at times!
I even found some yarn stores (surprise!).
We stayed 20 miles north of Amsterdam on the outskirts of a small charming town called Edam. We used this as a base from where to plan our various day-trips in the region.
We visited Amsterdam a couple of times and of course one of the first stops was the LYS! After much research I found that there are surprisingly very few yarnstores. In fact, the only true contender is the wonderful Penelope Craft Boutique in Kerk Straat. Malia, who owns the shop, stocks Malabrigo, Madelinetosh, Lopi, Cascade, GGH, and much more.
If you are following me on twitter, you might have seen some of these images already.
